The Bioengineering Section houses professors and researchers who apply physico-chemical-mathematical concepts and methods to solve problems in the life and health sciences, using analytical and synthetic engineering methodologies. Its integrative spirit of knowledge and methodologies from multiple engineering disciplines is a source of synergy and cohesion towards the generation of applied knowledge to solve problems and challenges generated by interactions between living and non-living beings; and generates a unified identity of its own, which distinguishes it from other engineering disciplines.
