Strategic Connection that Boosts Engineering in Peru

The Academic Department of Engineering of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP) celebrated with resounding success LinkING PUCP 2025its linking event that brought together academia, industry and society in an unprecedented space for collaboration and innovation. With an attendance of more than 900 participantsLinkING PUCP 2025 reaffirmed its position as a key driver for the country's development.

A high-impact multidisciplinary meeting

During October 1 and 2, LinkING 2025 was the perfect scenario to consolidate alliances and explore the latest trends in engineering. More than 20 leading companies actively joined the program, strengthening the interaction between the productive sector and academic research.

LinkING 2025 brought together leading technology and innovation professionals and enthusiasts. In an environment of collaboration and learning, ideas, projects and innovations that are transforming engineering in the country were presented. Keynote talks with international and national guests, 360° Engineering spaces and sensory experiences that fostered the connection and creation between teachers, entrepreneurs and students. More than an event, LinkING is a platform that makes PUCP talent visible and projects engineering towards a sustainable and innovative future.

Three experiences, one vision

Keynote lectures: Inspiration and global knowledge

We had the presence of international and national experts who shared their vision on the great global challenges. It is a unique opportunity to hear first-hand from those who are shaping the course of engineering in the world.

Participating in this edition of LinkING were Joaquín Proenza, expert in mineralogy, petrology, metallogenesis and geochemistry; Alfonso González, expert in Artificial Intelligence and smart cities; María de los Ríos, expert in bioethics and human rights; Freek Bos, expert in additive manufacturing in concrete; Vivien Bonnesoeur, expert in ecology, hydrology, forest management and biomechanics; and Bernhard Dold, expert in ecology, hydrology, forest management and biomechanics. ecology, hydrology, forest management and biomechanics, and Bernhard Dold, an expert in geochemistry and mineralogy, and geochemistry and mineralogy of mine tailings and acid mine drainage.

  • More than 55 lectures distributed in 4 clusters of excellenceaddressed crucial topics for the present and future of engineering.
  • The participation of 6 international speakerswho shared their global vision and experience.
  • 40 professors of PUCP Engineering gave specialized talks, showcasing the vast experience and leadership of our engineering community.
  • The collaboration of 4 government institutionsThe collaboration of 4 government institutions, demonstrating the commitment to the development of innovative public policies.

360° engineering: innovation and collaboration in action

It was the space that brought together the best of our community in specialized meetings. We held a technology fair, a meeting of collaborative laboratories, a space to talk about digital transformation, a meeting of researchers, an employability zone and specialized meetings with industry and academia. This space was the heart of the event and included:

  • A Technology Fair where 35 innovative 35 innovative projectsthe fruit of talent and research.
  • The active presence of 5 research groupsshowing their progress and opportunities for collaboration.
  • A Meeting of Collaborative Laboratories with the participation of 4 universities: UNI, ESAN UPC and PUCP.. This meeting promoted the exchange of experiences and the construction of networks where FABCORE presented its most recent developments.
  • A Researchers Meeting which brought together more than 20 researchers from PUCP of PUCP Engineering to discuss and project new lines of research.
  • A Employability Zone that connected more than 200 PUCP Engineering students with various job and professional development opportunities.
  • A meeting on Digital Transformation: With the participation of 7 speakers from academia, government and industry, who analyzed the challenges and opportunities of digitalization.

Experience: harvest, aroma and tradition

LinkING's most sensory space, where technology connected with culture and the senses. Through Harvest, Aroma and Tradition, tastings, talks and dynamics around coffee, cocoa, pisco and wine were enjoyed, showing how innovation is also lived from everyday life, creating connections that inspire and transcend.

This experience counted with the presence of 3 participating brands: Ciclos Café, El Cacaotal and Bodega Murga. These brands were able to link engineering applications in traditional sectors with an innovative approach, highlighting the excellence of their products and the appreciation of local producers.

A future of continuous collaboration

LinkING PUCP 2025 has been a testimony of the commitment of the Academic Department of Engineering with the generation of relevant knowledge and its effective transfer to society. We thank all attendees, speakers, companies and institutions for their valuable participation, and we reaffirm our vision to continue building bridges between academia, industry and society to promote a significant impact on the country.
