This is how the PUCP Group experienced 31 years of commitment and transformation

  • 31st Anniversary of the Rural Sector Support Group

In an emotional and meaningful event, the Rural Sector Support Group (PUCP Group) celebrated with great pride its thirty-first anniversary of foundation. Throughout three decades, this center of our Engineering Department has been a support for change, cementing its commitment to rural communities and sustainable development.

This year, the anniversary of the PUCP Group was celebrated in a special and enriching way. Among the various activities that took place on this day, the event entitled "Conversatorio: Raíces e Innovación: Donde Diferentes Perspectivas se Encuentran" (Conversation: Roots and Innovation: Where Different Perspectives Meet) stood out. A space for dialogue and reflection to explore the fundamental role of the PUCP Group in research and innovation with a positive social impact.

The discussion was attended by prominent authorities of our university, among them: Dr. Rafael Aguilar, head of our Engineering Department, Dr. Silvana Vargas, director of the Academic Direction of Social Responsibility, Dr. Rafael Aguilar and Dr. Silvana Vargas. Academic Direction of Social ResponsibilitylDr. Eduardo Ismodes, Dean of the Graduate School, and Dr. Carlos Silva, Director of the Research Management Department, who shared their valuable perspectives on the PUCP Group's commitment to generating significant social impact.

In addition, during this celebration, an Experience Exchange Table was held, led by members and researchers of the PUCP Group: Jorge Soria, Ivana Loayza, Fernando Carpio and Samantha Sanchez. In this additional space for exchange, relevant topics related to research and social commitment of the PUCP Group were discussed.

The event also included an emotional tribute to Carlos Hadzich, who is retiring after three decades of dedication to the center. His tireless work, contributions and unparalleled charisma during his time at Grupo PUCP undoubtedly left an indelible mark on the institution and the rural communities he served.

This event concluded with an Andean delight and thanks to the Pachamama as a tribute to our Peruvian land. The PUCP Group's 31 years are an eloquent testimony to its commitment to society and its contribution to sustainable development. With each step forward, they have been cementing the path towards a more inclusive and prosperous future for the deepest communities of our country. We are grateful for their work and enthusiastically celebrate the future contributions and achievements that will continue to mark the decades to come.
