Since 2004, the PUCP and Cisco, a North American company expert in Information Technology, have maintained a strategic link to contribute to the incorporation of modern technologies in our country. This year, for the first time after the COVID-19 pandemic, the PUCP will be hosting the Academy Day Peru 2022where several workshops will be held on cybersecurity and networks. It will also commemorate the 25th anniversary of the creation of Cisco.
We interviewed Mg. David Chávez, Director of CETAM PUCP and coordinator of the Cisco PUCP Academy, to learn about the importance of this alliance between our educational institution and Cisco.

We also spoke with Pamela Verano, administrator of the Cisco Academy PUCP, who explained the activities that will be carried out in this event and what is expected to be obtained in this strategic link.
We know that this event will be held for the first time after the pandemic. What is the main objective of this event? Cisco Academy Day 2022?
PV: We are pleased that PUCP will be hosting the Academy Day Peru 2022in the year in which Cisco celebrates its 25th anniversary.
Cisco Academy Day is the premier technology event for the entire Cisco community. Cisco Networking AcademyIt takes place every year in different countries, and is oriented to instructors and administrators. There are talks and workshops with national and international exhibitors, cybersecurity demonstrations and networking workshops. The meeting will be held on November 25 at the facilities of the Open PUCPin San Miguel.
How will the participation of the Cisco PUCP Academy in this event?
PV: As Cisco's academic partners, our participation is fundamental and the entire team of the Cisco PUCP Academy is collaborating for the realization of the Academy Day Peru 2022 and to strengthen ties with Cisco, as we share the commitment towards the development of skills in the IT field of our students who are the workforce of the future.
What are the following plans of the Cisco PUCP Academy?
PV: For 2023, one of the big themes is updating content with the new offerings in the Cisco Netacad course portfolio. This gives us the possibility to expand our offerings with continuing education proposals, which leads us to be at the forefront of industry-recognized certifications that prepare students for positions at all levels, whether in cloud computing, security or network administration.
Likewise, participation in projects with Cisco, such as in 2020, where training in cybersecurity issues was provided to university professors at the national level in the Project Conectados Project of the Ministry of Education.
