The PUCP has signed an educational cooperation agreement with the Scottish company Petroleum Experts Ltd. (PETEX), on the initiative of Dr. Willem Viveen from the Geological Engineering Department.
Thanks to the agreement, PETEX has donated ten educational licenses for its MOVE suite software, used for the analysis and modeling of structural geological processes. The donation is valued at £1,831,777.97. The software will be implemented in several undergraduate and graduate courses in order to promote the use and understanding of cutting-edge geological modeling tools.
This makes PUCP's Geological Engineering Specialization the first program at a higher education institution in Peru to offer this type of advanced software in its courses.
