626-2000 annex 4649
The Channel Hydraulics Laboratory of the Department of Engineering has been providing academic services to the Faculty of Science and Engineering for more than 40 years.
Since its inception, the main mission of the Hydraulics Laboratory has been to support the training and development of Hydraulics and Water Resources students, as well as to enhance its facilities for practical work and demonstrations for the purpose of teaching activities.
This environment is equipped with devices that allow the development of tests to study fluid properties and flow rates, including a locally manufactured horizontal flow channel that allows the development of flows in different scenarios. In addition, there is a locally manufactured piping system, a hydrostatic and fluid properties testing apparatus, a permeability tank, an elevated tank-tank pumping system and an equilibrium chimney for the study of mass oscillations in hydroelectric schemes.
