The Laboratory is an operative unit of the Engineering Department in the Mechanical Engineering Section that focuses on activities that have as axis the use and transformation of Energy. Supporting the formation of Mechanical, Mechatronics and Industrial Engineering students. And participating in technological development through research projects and projects with the national industry in coordination with the Center for Consulting and Integrated Services INNOVA-PUCP.
The Energy Laboratory has the following areas:

Head of laboratory:
Dr. Luis Chirinos García.
Professional Engineers:
Eng. José Miguel Pérez Flores.
David Emilio Enriquez Tipismana.
Ronald Eduardo Mas Bautista.
Secretary:
Rocio del Pilar Retamozo Apaico.
Technicians:
Broni Jesús Huamaní López.
Yhonathan Dayvis Rodríguez Alvarado.
Chiefs of Practices TC:
Ing. Arturo Emilio Berastaín Hurtado.
Diego Eduardo Pichilingue Guardia.
Equipment based on infrared measurement. Measuring range from -10°C to 700°C.
Measurement of combustion gases in burner stacks and oil internal combustion engines.
Recording of operating parameters in processes and/or thermal equipment. Signals can be analog and/or digital.
3.4kWp and 4kWp photovoltaic generation systems with on grid and off grid connection types.
Sensors to record the main variables in real time of the operation of processes and/or thermal equipment such as: temperature, pressure, relative humidity, volumetric flow, angular velocity. In addition to electrical parameters: voltage and current.
The network analyzer is a measuring instrument that allows to analyze the power quality within electrical networks. Among the parameters of interest are voltage variation, electrical frequency variation and waveform. It also allows to determine if these parameters are in accordance with the specifications established by the electricity service providers.
Climatic chambers with operating temperature down to -20°C.
Test bench for gasoline internal combustion engines (0 - 100Nm) and petrol engines (0 - 500Nm).
In the Energy Laboratory, the following specialized computer software is used:
The eGauge is a CT meter, which means that it can measure the power of individual circuits in your electrical panel using sensors called current transformers (CTs).
INSITE performs engine diagnostics and displays engine electronics information on your computer. With step-by-step diagnostics, integrated engine drawings and schematic diagrams, working with INSITE is easy. Using this software application will reduce troubleshooting time, errors and incorrect procedures and get your vehicle back on the road quickly.
A professional tool that allows installers to obtain up-to-date system data at any time, it also offers comprehensive analysis functions for individual queries and continuous optimization of the PV system.
Designed to work with USB and optical download data loggers, HOBOware simplifies setup and enhances data analysis with powerful tools for easy configuration, charting and analysis of our stand-alone products.
It is a PC-based data logging software for use with Brainchild Modbus devices such as I/O modules, temperature controllers and paperless loggers. It allows real-time display of: Trends, alarms, bar graphs and digital value.
It enables the most efficient transfer of data and knowledge. That's why many global utilities and industrial companies rely on FAST/TOOLS to deliver high levels of data integration and guaranteed data integrity. FAST/TOOLS is a complete SCADA software environment.
Multiphysics CAE simulation software for finite element analysis and simulation (FEA). It includes pre-processing, resolution and post-processing phases in a single work platform.
