This laboratory is oriented to research and design of clinical procedures and medical devices, mainly for preventive diagnosis, monitoring and rehabilitation, in addition to the application of telemedicine, health technology management and clinical engineering in hospitals, contributing to the undergraduate program of Electronic Engineering and Biomedical Engineering as well as to the Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering. It also has a project development laboratory as an extension of its activities.
The Bioengineering Laboratory has a wide local, national and international interaction through the Tecnopolo Salud CENGETS, the Center for Engineering and Rehabilitation Technology CITER PUCP Lima, the Bioengineering Research Group and the different funded projects and academic activities.

From the Bioengineering Laboratory of the PUCP, researcher Ana Cecilia Saavedra, an Electronic Engineering graduate, has developed a technique to diagnose skin, breast and prostate cancer in a non-invasive way.
